DWP news release

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) is constructing a new Bishop Creek Canal bridge, approximately three-quarters of a mile north of Warm Springs Road, to provide safe passage for vehicular and pedestrian traffic over the canal.

LADWP removed the previous bridge due to the high water runoff and is replacing the temporary foot bridge with this project.

All roads leading into the project site are currently closed and have closure signs posted along with barricades and construction fencing. Please note that this is an active construction site and includes hazards such as heavy equipment, excavated areas as well as dump trucks and other vehicles are entering and exiting the site.

The closure is necessary to ensure the safety of the public and LADWP employees working on the project. LADWP anticipates completing the project by May 2019 and looks forward to reopening the bridge to traffic and recreational use.
