In June, 69-year-old Ricardo Munoz was arrested in Mammoth Lakes for alleged lewd conduct in public. Now, he is out of jail on his own recognizance and some local parents say they’re concerned.ricardo_vaca_munoz

Deputy District Attorney Todd Graham said that Munoz faces two counts of lewd conduct in public. These charges stem from reported incidents at a local store in which employees said that Munoz had followed young girls while masturbating in his clothing.

Graham said Munoz’s trial is pending. A trial setting conference is scheduled for October 19th. Asked if Munoz could become a registered sex offender, Graham said, “The charge against Munoz is not listed as a crime requiring registration as a sex offender, but the judge does have discretion in this case.”

One local mother, Tina Gasperik, said “I’m a very concerned parent that this case is not resolved and this man is walking free.”
