Mammoth Lakes, CA – The Town of Mammoth Lakes would like to inform all our residents and visitors that the personal use of fireworks is prohibited in the Town of Mammoth Lakes, including non-designated areas within Mono County, and on Inyo National Forest (INF) and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands.

Due to EXTREME FIRE DANGER, both the Mammoth Lakes Fire Protection District and Mammoth Lakes Police Department will enforce a “zero tolerance” policy with respect to the possession and use of fireworks without a permit. Fireworks violations will be strictly enforced. Campfires, briquette barbeques, smoking, fireworks, any kind of explosives and the use of acetylene or other torches, will be restricted on BLM-managed public lands within the Bishop Field Office boundary, and on the Inyo National Forest. The Town of Mammoth Lakes would like to encourage all our residents and visitors to celebrate our national holiday in a safe and responsible manner, and to attend the scheduled Fourth of July firework shows. These include the spectacular fireworks show on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Crowley Lake, and in The Village at Mammoth on Thursday, July 5, 2012.
