Another workforce housing project in Mammoth is finished and ready for tenants.

Jennifer Halferty with Mammoth Lakes Housing reports that the Jefferyes, the 14 unit Apartment complex on Dorrance and Lupine, has already started to fill.

The project was paid for by a $1 million community development block grants and $1.75 million in HOME grants. The grant money puts certain restrictions on how much a renter can make a year. Like the recently opened workforce housing project in Bishop, a renter has to make below 60% of the area median income. In Mono County this shakes out to $38,500 for a family of four. A family of two has to make below $30,840. In Bishop the two person cut off is $26,400.

The Jefferyes Apartments have already started to fill up. Halferty says that six families have been approved so far.
