On the way up to Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, another recreation catches attention – Sledz. The owner was Jim Dunn, a long time Mammoth resident who lately had moved to Encinitas. Friends confirmed Friday that Dunn died after being hospitalized recently.

Local residents said that Dunn had been keeping bees, was stung, experienced a bad reaction and was hospitalized. His condition worsened and he passed away Friday.

Dunn created and operated the fun sled recreational site more than 20 years ago. He is also reported to have a snow removal business in Mammoth Lakes. Dunn is survived by one son and many friends and acquaintances.
