360 Degrees of Adventure virtual reality video from Mammoth Lakes Tourism recently won not one, but two Telly Awards.

The first was the Silver Telly for Craft – Use of 360 for Branded Content, which is the highest honor award for branded content this year. Mammoth Lakes was the only Silver Telly award winner in this category and no video scored higher to win Gold.

Tellys are awarded based on a required point system. If someone doesn’t qualify for a Silver or Gold then it’s not awarded. In other words, Silver was the highest honor awarded this year in this category and Mammoth Lakes was the top dog.

“Our team is beyond excited that Mammoth Lakes has been recognized on the global stage for its innovative storytelling achievement,” said Whitney Lennon, Mammoth Lakes Tourism’s Director of Marketing. “We are truly awestruck to be recognized by judges of this caliber.”

Additionally, the VR video won the Bronze Telly for General – Travel/Tourism Branded Content. The Telly Awards annually showcase the best work created within television and across video, for all screens.

Receiving more than 12,000 entries from all 50 states and 5 continents, Telly Award winners represent work from some of the most respected advertising agencies, television stations, production companies and publishers from around the world.

Empowered to uphold the historical standards of the Telly competition, judges may award top honors to more than one entry or no entries in a particular category.
