A Mammoth man originally arrested for an allegation of attempted murder now faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats, and felony child endangerment.

Mammoth Police had reported that they arrested 39-year-old Jorge Tapia Solis after a 911 call and a chase through town. Officers said that Solis and the victim in this case were in a relationship that was “falling apart.” The pair have a one-year-old child.

It was after 1 am that Mammoth Police received a 911 call from the victim to say that Solis was threatening her. Police responded and Solis fled. They caught up with the suspe3ct on Joaquin St. Officers said that through a translator they learned that an altercation had developed and that Solis allegedly held a knife to the woman’s throat.

A preliminary hearing for Solis will take place next Tuesday, June 15th.
