A hefty storm for Mammoth Lakes fluffed up the statistics for this year even higher. Mammoth Mountain Ski Area said the slopes received four feet of snow in the first four days of March and a total of 418 inches which tops the yearly snow average of 400 inches.

MMSA says it was the snowiest February in a decade with almost 12 feet of snow in the month. All the snow means skiing at least through Memorial Day. At last report, the Mountain claimed a 12 to 16 foot base.
