busbannerAll of our best wishes to you, our website readers, and your friends and family.  We’ve enjoyed a year of local news and your comments. We’ve had some tough times in 2012, some sad news and some good news.  Overall, we can probably agree we’re very glad to live in the Eastern Sierra where the beauty outweighs most problems.

We all wish the best in 2013 and will continue to watch the local news scene for stories that matter to you.  A friend reminded me the other day that life unfolds in cycles – the good, the happy and the prosperous down to the sad, the difficult and the poor times and back up again.  The key to life is balance, he said.  Maybe the Town of Mammoth did ride too high.  Maybe the Owens Valley has been on its knees too long.  With new county officials in Inyo and Mono, we’ll see how it goes.

As we watch news from around the nation and world, we can still keep the light on in our own hearts and minds as we look at the Sierra and wish for many more years right here.
