When Mono Sheriff’s deputies stopped a car with no license plates and no displayed temproary
registration paperwork, they said they found methamphetamine, ecstasy tablets and oxycodone. They arrested two people.
Last week, Mono Sheriff’s deputies stopped the vehicle north of Bridgeport on 395. Deputies searched the vehicle and found a pink backpack on the floor board in between the driver and passenger seats. They said it contained a gray vinyl glass case which held a yellow balloon with seven grams of methamphetamine. They also found a blue balloon that contianed ecstasy tablets and oxycodone tablets.
Officers arrested Rae Dean Anderson, 42, of Sun Valley, Nevada and Dennis Shay, 34, of Winnemucca, Nevada. The pair told deputies they were traveling from Mexico to the Reno, Nevada area. Both Anderson and Shay were arrested and booked in the Mono County Jail where they remained in custody for being under the influence and for the transportation of a controlled substance.
