Letter to the Editor

My platform is about bringing quality leadership back to the position of Mono County Sheriff. I will ensure that the Mono County Sheriff’s Department becomes proactive in its law enforcement role instead of reactive as it is currently. I will be instituting an effective call out system to ensure faster response times to calls for service and crimes in progress. I will also be working toward 24 hour patrol to provide round the clock coverage.

I will be an advocate for community oriented policing including bringing a quality DARE program back into our local schools. In addition I will be restructuring the current patrol patterns and beat responsibilities to reduce crime and provide increased service to the communities we serve. I will be establishing a new staff evaluation process, which will lead to increased productivity, service, morale and professionalism. During these difficult economic times it is smarter than ever to share training between agencies to ensure the public that all personnel receive the most up to date training possible, all at the lowest possible cost to the taxpayers. Fiscally managing the Sheriffs Department will be a top priority as county revenues decrease. I will seek out alternative funding sources to replace lost revenue to continue the Departments mission to protect and serve with the highest levels of service possible. Please don’t settle for the same old way of doing business in Mono County, it is time for a positive change in the management system of the Sheriffs department.

Candidate for Mono County Sheriff
