The Inyo District Attorneys Office has released the name of the 17-year-old juvenile alleged to have killed 29-year-old James Williams on the Bishop Indian Reservation. The teenager will face murder charges as an adult.

Normally names of juveniles are not released, but in this case Inyo District Attorney Art Maillet reports that Edward George Keller Jr. will be tried as an adult for this offense.

Sheriff’s Officials had earlier reported that investigators interviewed a juvenile male who ultimately confessed to the brutal attack on Barlow Lane November 26th, which cost one man his life.

When officers responded to a November 26th disturbance call on Barlow Lane, deputies found a man with a head wound and another man passed out beside the victim. An autopsy found that the victim had died from blunt force trauma to the head.

Morgan Kinney Jr. of Bishop was arrested without incident, but further investigations led in a different direction. On Tuesday December 1, Sheriff Officials reported that there was a different suspect in custody. They said a juvenile male had confessed to the killing.

On Friday December 4, Maillet reported that he had charged Keller with one count of murder and planned to try the 17-year-old as an adult.

The juvenile subject remained held at the Inyo County Juvenile Detention Center at last word. A preliminary hearing for Edward George Keller Jr. is set for December 17th at 9:00 am.
