A reflection of the year’s projects under President and Mayor Cullen included involving the club in building a senior community garden, helping with the Bishop career seminar and job fair, tending to the roses at the fairgrounds, laying pavers in the city park, delivering wish tree presents, driving a bear to Bishop and collecting DVD’s for Vets. Fundraising was accomplished through the Bishop Mardi Gras party, serving at Good Ole Days and Comstock Cowboys and a Coffee Drive. Donations were made to Polio Plus, Local Scholarships, Local Programs, Guatemala Literacy and Shelterbox. Other highlights included hosting a Group Study Exchange team from France and sending two Rotary Youth Leadership students to a three day leadership skills camp in Southern California.
The annual dinner is also the occasion at which Rotary honors their volunteers. This past Rotary year has been a wonderful experience and very rewarding. We can all be very proud of the work we have done in our own community and internationally. I would like to thank each and every member, my sincere thank you for your support and help during this year. We did Make Dreams Real. said Susan Cullen
The new President Don Mathewson will take over on July 1st with the theme The Future of Rotary is in Our Hands. Supporting Don on his new board has been officially constituted as follows: Susan Cullen, Jeff Griffiths, Linda Arcularius, John Halfen, Tom Hardy and Julie Faber.
