A New Year’s Eve altercation behind Rusty’s Saloon in Bishop did lead to criminal charges against three people. All three will now appear in court for a settlement conference on Monday, April 26th.

It was 1am New Year’s Day that police and others were called to Rusty’s Saloon. In the alley behind the bar, officers said they found Peggy Feigner had been assaulted along with her friend Norm Hollis.

Inyo District Attorney Art Maillet said that Jessica Howe and Andrew Warye of Bishop and Norm Hollis of Mammoth Lakes will appear for a settlement conference next Monday. Howe faces felony charges of battery with great bodily injury, assault with a deadly weapon and a special enhancement of great bodily injury. Andrew Warye was arrested and charged with battery against Norm Hollis. Then, Hollis was later charged with making statements that led to an assault.

Court officials allege that Howe assaulted Peggy Feigner who was flown out to Renown Medical Center with head injuries.
