A highway jokester had some people fooled, or at least amused. South of Keough's Hot Springs and pool, some service symbol signs were punctuated with what looked like an official highway sign, but the msign.jpgessage was anything but official.

The sign said, "Public Clothing Optional" – Say what?

With the hot springs nearby, some thought maybe this advice was for real. Caltrans spokesmen assured us it was not official. In fact, Caltrans took down the phony sign.

Caltrans confirmed that the sign did belong to some public entity at some point, but the jokester altered the message.

Motorists enjoyed a chuckle.
