The fire named “Warm Fire” ran along both sides of the Owens River, forward rate of spread was stopped around 5 p.m. and was held at three acres.

Rapid response from CAL FIRE and cooperating agencies including Inyo National Forest Service, Owens Valley Bureau of Land Management, Bishop Fire Department and Los Angeles Department of Water and Power kept the fire from becoming a major incident.

The fire burned in heavy brush, trees and tulles make mop-up progress slow. Currently the fire is three acres and is being held in check with hose line and fire line completely around it.

Tonight overall containment is 35% and that number is expected to grow by morning. Crews will be out all evening continuing mop-up work. Anyone driving in the area please drive slow as firefighters and fire equipment will be working. Fire cause is under investigation, no firefighter or civilian injuries have been reported and no structures have been damaged or destroyed.
