1953 – 2014

61 Years Old

Born 1/17/1953 to Reimars and Regina Strazdins, Ingrid passed away at her home in Bishop on 5/20/2014. She was 61 years old. Ingrid moved to Bishop in 1994 to be closer to her family members, brother Tom Strazdins, his wife Shirley and sister Sylvia Derr. In the years Ingrid lived in Bishop she held several positions with Pestmaster Services, Albright Vending and others as an accountant. Ingrid worked for the Bishop Care Center as a CNA for 10 years, for which she worked with elderly patients, and short-term patients there for rapid recovery. Ingrid loved people and would go out of her way to cheer people up. She was a rare and lovely soul, who always put other’s needs before her own. When she entered a room, people noted her wonderfully charming smile and kind demeanor. She was a marvelous spirit. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was beautiful. Ingrid loved to read novels by Grisham, Clancy and King. She loved to hike, bike, fish and walk with her walking partner “Gus” the dog. Ingrid could be seen most days at the gym, and she loved to stay trim and fit. Ingrid was one of six siblings that included Inta, Reimars, Jr., Ilmars, Ralda, Ingus and Sylvia.

She was preceded in death by her parents Reimars and Regina Strazdins, her sister Ralda, brother Ingus and nephew Nick Strazdins.

Ingrid is survived by her husband of 16 years Tim;; mother-in-law Vera Rebecca Schumacher; step-daughter Cynthia Carreon and grandchildren Julia Carreon and Evelyn Valdivia; sister Inta Strazdins of Los Angeles; brother Reimars, Jr. of Rutledge, GA, brother & sister-in-law Tom and Shirley Strazdins of Lee Vining, sister Sylvia and Kim Derr of Bishop; nieces Melissa Strazdins, Melinda Strazdins, Amanda Derr and Shelly Duro of Lee Vining; nephews Mathew Strazdins Nathan Derr, Michael Duro of Lee Vining; last but not least, “Gus”, Ingrid’s walking partner.

Per Ingrid’s request, there will be no services to honor her memory. If folks wish to purchase flower, please buy them for yourselves to enjoy in her memory. We all know Ingrid in our own ways. Please honor her memory and her love and remember a beloved soul and human being now gone.

The family of Ingrid would like to please not have unannounced visitors at her home, and no offering of food. Hold Ingrid in your hearts, we love you our darling.
