Why is Kammi Foote in the news so much?

    • Benett Kessler October 12, 2013 at 4:47 pm #

She is an active and engaged public official who cares about public issues and keeping people informed.

      She’s a skilled self-promoting politician?

I don’t see it that way, but that’s okay if that’s your view. I find it refreshing to have officials communicate with the public.

Laughable. Don’t be so naïve Ms. Kessler. When does her term of office expire?

Sometimes the comments on here are too negative. Why not look at the good side of life sometimes. It’s really great and it’s not naivete. Smart politicians know how to communicate who they are. I respect that. On the contrary, many politicians in Washington are communicating who they are and it’s not public service.

She is smart skilled and selfless in her leadership of the office
Selfpromoting only as far as having an informed electorate,
to get out the ballots ,candidates statements , moderate debates and make sure all votes are counted
All done with honesty and tranpersncy

    Why are people so mean?
Why do we always assume the worse?
Is it because we get hurt every time, or is it because we got hurt once and never got over it?
I’m enjoying being an idiot, all the pressure is off and I am free to be myself. Sure, you can beat me up because you don’t understand that my intentions are good; I’ll still pull over and help you on the side of the road, I’ll still risk my life to pull you from a burning house.
    No hard feelings.
P.S. BK… Thanks for answering my question. 😉

Good stuff Mongo. I rarely agree with you. I may even be mean to you sometimes. But you are still ok and I don’t hate you — maybe just what you say sometimes.

I hope Kammi runs this city someday soon. Caldwell should take notes.

Kudos to Clerk Kammi Foote. It is refreshing to see an elected official as dedicated to her job and serving the community as she is.

I don’t quite understand the negativity. Clerk Foote is simply getting information to people in the community, who are thinking about running for office. But, it reminds me of a quote from Winston Churchill.

“You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life.” – Winston Churchill

By impugning someone motives just for doing their jobs shows how damaging anonymous comments can be. It can also deter otherwise good candidates from running for public office.
Yes you need a thick skin to seek elected office, but mean spirited and snide comments from people you don’t know can sting none the less. As for Kammi, you couldn’t ask for a better public servant. Her goal is to have a better informed electorate and educate people on their voting rights. She is also a tireless community volunteer and involved in many projects to improve the quality of life in the Owens Valley. We’re extremely lucky to have her.

    Mongo…… MONGO…….
There are no idiots in Inyo County thanks to you.
There are no voter’s rights issues in Inyo County thanks to Kammi Foote.
Idealism and hope for the future is alive and well in the Owens Valley
