The Mammoth Lakes Community Emergency Response Team, CERT, will conduct its next CERT academy starting 2-25-12 and continuing on 3-3-12 & 3-10-12, three consecutive Saturdays. Training will begin at 9AM and end at 5PM, at The Best Western hotel, Main Street, Mammoth Lakes. This 24 hour course covers many topics to help the residents of Mammoth Lakes deal with emergencies, family, neighborhood and community. Topics are:
Disaster preparedness;
Basic first aid;
Basic fire prevention and extinguishing small fires at home;
Basic search and rescue.
Upon completion of the 24 hour course students will be encouraged to join CERT but joining is not a requirement. Our CERT goals are to help our community survive a disaster, man-made or natural.
