A Mammoth man, originally arrested for an allegation of attempted murder entered a plea of no contest to one count of criminal threats as a felony strike offense in his preliminary hearing on Tuesday.

Jorge Tapia Solis, 39, remains in jail and, according to Deputy District Attorney Todd Graham Solis has an immigration hold. This means he could potentially be deported after disposition of his case in Mono County.

Earlier this month, Mammoth Police reported that they had arrested Solis after a 911 call from a woman who said that Solis was threatening her. Officers said Solis fled from the scene, which was an apartment in Mammoth. Police caught up with Solis on Joaquin St.

Officers said Solis and the woman involved were in a relationship that was “falling apart.” The pair have a one-year-old child who was reportedly present during the altercation.

Solis will be sentenced July 13th in Bridgeport.
