St. Margaret’s of San Juan Capistrano made a long drive to Bishop, then drove up and down the field against the Broncos.

Showing why they’re the No. 1 seed and three-time defending section champions, the Tartans scored an impressive 47-6 over Bishop in the CIF-Southern Section Toyota Football Championships semifinals Saturday night at John Schwab Field.

The Tartans will play at Ontario Christian for the East Valley Division championship Saturday. The Knights blanked Grace Brethren, 45-0, in the other semifinal Friday night.

Bishop finished at 7-5 (8-5 with a forfeit win against Mammoth), taking second place in the High Desert League at 4-1. The Broncos won two games in the playoffs, 21-20 against Brentwood in the first round and last week’s 29-0 quarterfinal victory over Fillmore.
