Inyo County Sheriff’s Office press release

The Inyo County Sheriff’s Office, Federal Bureau of Investigations, Joint Terrorism Task Force, CHP and other law enforcement agencies conducted a thorough and exhaustive investigation into the validity of the recent email threat made to Lone Pine High School. The outcome of the investigation indicated that the threat was not credible.

The Sheriff’s Office as well as CHP will have an increased presence this week at Lone Pine High School, Lo-Inyo School and Owens Valley School to ensure the safety of the students, staff and public.

Both Lone Pine High School and Lo-Inyo School will resume classes and other school activities tomorrow morning.

“We want to commend Lone Pine school officials for contacting the Sheriff’s Office as soon as they were made aware of the email threat,” stated Inyo County Sheriff, Bill Lutze. “The Sheriff’s Office takes threats of this nature extremely seriously.”
