Bridgeport).

CHP arrived on scene to remove the wood from the traffic lane and observed
damage to the guardrail on the west shoulder. The CHP officer checked the
guardrail and observed a vehicle approximately 250 feet down the embankment.

an unknown time. For unknown reasons, the driver allowed the Ford to travel to
the west and off of the roadway. The vehicle continued traveling southbound
traversing the hillside.

The Ford struck the guardrail, and then the continued traveling down the
embankment and overturned several times. The driver was ejected and the right
front passenger remained inside the vehicle The driver and passenger were
pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver and right front passenger were the
only occupants in the vehicle at the time of the collision along with two dogs. One
of the dogs sustained fatal injuries. The cause of this collision is still under
investigation.

The names of the parties involved in the collision were Windy Skajita, age 51, from Sacramento, CA and Darryl Ramirez, age 53, from West Sacramento, CA.  CHP is still investigating the collision to determine who the driver was and whether drugs or alcohol were involved.

Both parties were wearing seatbelts but the force of the impact caused Skajita to be ejected, Ramirez was ejected from his seat and tossed around inside of the Ford as it overturned.
