Update 11:23 a.m Friday, June 9:

UPDATE – State Route 108 Sonora Pass will not open today as previously planned.  Due to the current snowy conditions the pass will remain closed today.  Crews will re-evaluate tomorrow.

Press releases

Lots of updates to report.

For roads, Caltrans is anticipating to open Sonora Pass today at noon.  Inyo County will open the  North Lake Road today at noon.

The Town of Mammoth Lakes was busy plowing the Lakes Basin Road this week. There are several maintenance issues outstanding, including plowing parking areas, that are still being worked on.

Caltrans anticipates that plowing will begin next week on the Reds Meadow Road.

We are seeing storm damage on almost all roads and trails this year. Our engineering crews have been very busy. Please advise visitors to  be extra cautious while travelling on the roads since they may be undercut, have deep gullying, and be water saturated or flooded.

There is no estimated opening date for Tioga Pass. The park reports they have plowed one lane to the boundary.

Several campgrounds are open for this weekend including East Fork, For Jeffrey, and Sabrina.

All Forest Service visitor centers are open for seven day coverage right now.

Have a great weekend.
