usfslogoResidents reported smoke in the area of Bald Mountain, and the Forest Service confirmed that at least two controlled burns have taken place in Mono County.

On Wednesday, Forest Service and BLM crews handled a 156 acre controlled burn in the Pilot Springs area on the east side of Highway 395, north of Crestview.  On Thursday, another burn was conducted north of Crestview on the east side of 395.  The Forest Service reported 101 acres.

Smoke may continue to be visible from these and other burns.
