chp.jpg(press release) On Friday, July 18, 2014, at approximately 11:30 AM, two California Highway Patrol (CHP) Bridgeport Area officers assigned to the Mammoth Lakes Resident Post were patrolling in the area of US 395, northbound, south of Crestview Rest area, when they observed a blue Chevrolet pickup truck towing a white camping trailer with an expired registration sticker.  

The officers initiated an enforcement stop, the vehicles came to a stop on the right shoulder and officers contacted the driver of the pickup truck. Officers identified the pickup’s driver as a Mr. Ralph Kenneth Provident, age 65, from Blythe, California.  The CHP officers determined Mr. Provident had multiple felony and misdemeanor warrants from both Tehama County and Santa Barbara County.  Mr. Provident was arrested and transported to the Mono County Jail in Bridgeport, where he was booked without incident.
