State Asked to Open Campgrounds and RV Parks
Yosemite Gateway Area Coordination Team Requests the State Open Up Campgrounds and Private RV Parks in Mariposa, Madera, Mono and Tuolumne Counties
[SW NOTE: Bowing to pressure from business owners that want to reopen sooner with in-door dining and environmentalists concerned over dispersed camping and fire officials as well, the Mono County Board of Supervisors joined with their counterparts in three other rural Sierra counties asking that the state allow all campgrounds and RV parks be opened immediately. Coupled now with the immediate opening of fishing season in these counties (when approved), providing accommodations for visitors has become a necessity.-CJAMES]

Is the plan for mitigation referenced in the second paragraph of the letter available to the public? Private businesses enforcing social distancing and mitigation measures such as masks have been subjected to violence, in one case leading to the death of an employee. I hope somebody in Sacramento listens, but I’m not holding my breath.
I don’t see Inyo National Forest included. Why not? Information is hard to get from either their Facebook page or website.
You should re-read paragraph 4 of the letter “A particular area of concern…” It specifically mentions “Inyo and Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forests.”
Inyo NF is definitely an “area of concern”, as is Humboldt-Toiyabe, but neither is named as
part of the “partnership”. Are the officials involved oppposed to making the requested adjustments? Requests (from me) for information have been politely not answered.
